My son and heir is two. Adventurous with it, as befits the age.

We usually let him roam upstairs first thing in the morning, leaving the bathroom door shut. I was downstairs when he managed to pop the catch on the door (it's temperamental), climb on the toilet seat, sit in the sink, turn the (very) hot tap on and not be able to get out.

By the time Anne got to him, he had nasty scalds on his foot and thigh, and was, unsurprisingly, crying and repeating (remarkably articulately) "not happy, mummy".

We took him to casualty, where they sedated him, gave him some painkillers (let's hear it for junior ibuprofen) and dressed the burns, before we brought him home.

Anne took him back this morning for them to check up: all looking fine, which is good.
He's also (with typical bad timing) developing a cold: by this evening he was running a temperature, which may be a reaction to yesterday, part of the cold, or both. Anne's just taken him back to A+E (since they know the immediate history) at 11pm, since we weren't happy. They just phoned to say they'll let him home when his temperature drops to normal (currently it's at 39degC (102degF)...

...so I guess I'll go to bed.
