I get the regular security announcements from Debian GNULinux - today they included an update for Emacs, specifically a patch that prevented a malicious user being able to execute code as group 'mail' using the movemail program.

I wonder how many people's immediate thought was of Cliff Stoll's "The Cuckoo's Egg"?

Probably not many :)
