Does any UKer remember this?
Nov. 11th, 2002 09:46 amBack in the mid-70s on BBC was a short (5 episode?) drama series. Memory says it was on just before the 9 o'clock news, I guess.
The basic premise was that there was a monster roaming a small island. A number of different groups, including at least two lots of military (one Russian) were chasing it. IIRC you never actually saw the monster, only things from its viewpoint, which was always through a red filter.
The twist in the tale was that the 'monster' was actually the now-deranged pilot of a crashed experimental Russian jet, into which he had been cybernetically linked...
If anyone is thinking 'this sounds like a recent Mutant X episode', yes, that's what reminded me of it. Does anyone remember any more details? URL? Title? Cast? Better synopsis?
Update
Thanks to Kathy on Filk-UK:
it's "The Nightmare Man": http://www.mhearn.freeserve.co.uk/pps/rts11/pps_rts11f.htm
By all accounts, everyone else thought it was excellent, too....
