While I assume the numbers the Buffy writers were only listed after modelling "a small city with a college" this is a nice result. One thing I'd like to correct on the model, though: if I interpreted the episodes correctly, *every* victim becomes a vampire. So b=1 (instead of 1/240) which will give vastly different numbers.
I think the basic equation for human population should look more like \frac{dH}{dt} = H (r - aV) which would yield different results. I'll keep you posted on the discussion results.
