Jan. 23rd, 2002 03:04 pmI took two unemployed friends to see a soccer match on Monday night: Peterborough United vs Darlington - FA cup third round replay. Peterborough won! Yay!
The prize, a fourth round tie AT HOME against Newcastle: sure, they shouldn't win, but it's worth a cool half million in TV rights and the like. To quote P'boro's manager: "I'll play three goalies and hold out for a nil-nil draw and another half-million from the replay!"
The game is on Sunday. We weren't going to go, but one of the friends has just won free tickets on local radio, and, being a thoroughly decent bloke, has offered me one. A couple of brief phone calls later, and we're all going!
