A plug

I, micktim, and AS (a friend from uk.music.guitar) are playing in the orchestra for a production of Jesus Christ Superstar from April 12-16 at the Broadway Theatre in Peterborough. I and AS are on guitar, and micktim is on percussion.

Tickets available online, if anyone fancies it - I believe the Saturday matinee is pretty much sold out, but the rest still have seats available.

This is one off my list of lifetime ambitions: it's a show I've always wanted to play. Ironically, the way the parts are split, AS gets that awesome opening guitar lick, but I may steal it off him on the last night: the distribution of parts is largely based on the fact that I fingerpick better than he does :)

And, for the record, Andrew Lloyd-Webber is a complete and utter sod. The overture goes through TWENTY-THREE time and three key signature changes before bar 70. And my opening lick requires a five fret stretch on the bottom string (tuned down to D) from Ab to Eb. The major 'you are KIDDING' moment has to be the annotation at bar 55 in "Judas' Death": "Change to acoustic". And bar 56: "Acoustic (rhythm)". Thank god I now have a Variax!

It's gonna be fun.
