In memory...
Jul. 3rd, 2006 05:59 pmFor my set at Concertino '06, I wanted to start with something in memory of
gythanorth, without whom it's pretty safe to say I wouldn't be a filker.
I had a pretty good idea what I wanted to do, and the arrangement sort of evolved in my head and noodling on an electric guitar over the early part of the con. It eventually crystallised with half an hour or so's rehearsal in the hour before my set, with Anne (on
quadrivium's keyboard),
filkerdave (acoustic) and
filkerdave's elder son (snare drum).
For
gythanorth: her "Music Has A Strong Magic" (MP3, recorded by
filkerdave).
words: Gytha North;
music: Cyril Tawney ('Sally Free And Easy');
inspiration: Gordon R. Dickson's "Lost Dorsai"
