Passion Play
Apr. 11th, 2009 11:44 amAs some of you may know, I've been helping run sound and lights for a passion play at church. This included such fun and entertaining problems as
- figuring out how to mike Jesus up on the cross when he's wearing nothing substantial enough to clip/hide a belt pack on (answer, gaffer-tape a spare tieclip mic to the back of the upright. which also proved useful for reinforcing the 'Crucify Him' shouts when half the cast was backstage)
- running various sound effects off my iPhone (including the cock crow, and the three handed clap-of-thunder plus two flash guns for lightning)
- getting four DMX512 LED lights and 4 old Pulsar spots to talk to the same lighting desk (Zero88 demux box - very handy gadget from our excellent hire co)
Anne and James went, and by all accounts enjoyed it. Although...
Before they went, Anne asked James what he thought it was going to be about: James,. who'd been listening to me audition sound effects on my laptop, replied: "exploding chickens".
