TV Meme catchup days 22-4
Jun. 11th, 2010 09:23 amA combination of work and a day off with a headache...
Day 22 - Favorite series finale
Anne, predictably: MASH
Me: right at the moment? Has to be Ashes to Ashes.
Day 23 - Most annoying character
Anne: Wesley Crusher, from ST:TNG (thus proving she's a sane, well-adjusted human being)
Me: Indubutably Joxer from Xena: Warrior Princess. Meant to be annoying, does it very well.
Day 24 - Best quote
Both from the same show, and the same eminently quotable character, too:
Anne: "If you'll excuse me - I have fifteen things fighting for my attention, all of them annoying" - a quote she empathises with.
Me: "Who am I? I am Susan Ivanova, Commander. Daughter of Andre and Sophie Ivanov. I am the right hand of vengeance and the boot that is going to kick your sorry ass all the way back to Earth, sweetheart! I am death incarnate, and the last living thing that you will ever see. God sent me."
To quote JMS: "If you look at "Give me liberty or give me death!" or similar statements, made to rally support or make a point, they're generally bigger than life, a bit over the top. That's so we can know where the top is so we can climb up there ourselves."
Have to admit, though, to a sneaking fondness for Gene Hunt's "Drop your weapons: you are surrounded by armed bastards..." among many many others.
