1961 - a hopeful twinkle in my parents' eyes - they get married this year, and are living in a flat in Garforth, near Leeds. Dad's lecturing in the fledgling CS department at Leeds Uni, Mum is a departmental secretary for Prof Atkins in (IIRC) the Engineering dept.
1971 - living in North Ferriby, age 7 1/2, at 27 West Parklands Drive: going to North Ferriby C of E Primary School, headmaster the late and underappreciated Jack Danby. Dad is lecturer in Comp Sci at Hull University, Mum's a housewife.
1981 - still in North Ferriby, 400 yards up the road at 14 Parklands Crescent, have just left the third year 6th at Hymers College, Hull and am doing a few months experience at Hull Uni before going to Cambridge. Dad's now a senior lecturer, Mum is a teaching assistant at Tranby School.
1991 - working for what's now EDS Unigraphics, living in Cambridge at, I *think*, 7A Mill Road and sharing with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
ci5rod. Dad's still at Hull, Mum is a teaching assistant at, I think, Hessle Mount School. Going out with Anne (and have been since 1985).
2001 - working (from home) for CricInfo.com (having worked for Electric Mail (now NetConnect), Demon Internet, a stint at CricInfo until they ran out of ready cash) and Entropic in the interval at 2 Westbrook Park Road, Peterborough, married to Anne, James is 1, and we have a variable number of cats which is, I think, 3 at that time (Myth, Magic, Moonlight). Mum's retired, Dad's about to. And I'm about to become a paper millionaire, for about 6 months.
2011 - Technical Lead for the Media Publishing team for BBC iPlayer (having worked for TuxSports, Mind Candy and Yahoo! in the meantime), livjng at The Mill House, Werrington, James is (eep) about to start secondary school and Anne's about to become a partner at her veterinary practice. Mum and Dad both retired, and we have 3 and a 1/2 cats (Rogue, Callisto, Cuddles and Gambit when he condescends to show up).
