Yesterday...

...was kinda mixed. :-)

On the good side, I'm now 17st13.5lb. :-)

I spent the morning, as noted, laminating badges and stuff. While doing so, I got up from my nice office chair to attend to the laser printer, then stood by the laminator to feed it, and then sat down... except that my two paces backwards before I sat down were about half a step too far, resulting in my leg knocking the chair and causing it to roll back a further yard or so...

Result: no chair under Mike's butt. Mike falls backwards, and in attempting to right himself, wrenches knee and sits down hard. Ouch.

Could have been worse - I could still walk, but it sure as heck hurt.

Anyway - on to the gig: went pretty well, all told, despite a somewhat low turnout. The sound was superb (thanks GK and Andy), the rest of the band were fab. I, for once, had something of an off day. I actually lost count of the number of times my brain wound up a semi-tone out on the fretboard, resulting in the odd hideous bum note that *I* heard, even if no-one else did. On the plus side, I don't think I've ever sung that well, and several of the things I *usually* have problems with, like the solo to "Monday Morning" and the whole of "Never Going Back Again", worked a treat. I *even* think I got the vocal timing right on "Go Your Own Way".

As for the knee - music and adrenaline are wonderful painkillers, especially with a bit of help from Ibuprofen. Hurts like *deleted* this morning, though.

Glad the gig went well! Hope your knee feels better soon.

Good news on the weight (or lack thereof). How did you manage NOT to put on weight over Christmas?

Enjoyed the gig! As you said the lowish turnout was a pity, but MAN DO YOU GUYS ROCK!

Hopefully I have a load of good stills and some (probably very amateur) movie footage on GK's digital movie handi cam, which is a very cool toy.

...Mike? You have a journal? Neat. ^_^

Just hijacking a little corner of your comments section to say 'hi' and 'long time, no see.'

Yay on all the positives in that... and comforting hugs in response to the knee. You *are* taking good care of that? I assume your vet will tell you if/when to go see a doc... ;)
