Heck, I dunno what to call it. My new toy is (as those who were at the SWiGGLe a couple of weeks ago will remember) a guitar-bodied bouzouki, or bouzar, or gazuki.

The latter is what the guy I bought it off calls them - see http://www.gazuki.co.uk/ - apparently they're made to his spec in China and imported. Your choice of unison or octave pairs on the bottom two strings, and your choice of tuning (GDAD or GDAE).

Mine is GDAD unison, and I restrung with Elixir phosphor bronze (13/17/30/52) - and it sounds amazing.

Looks very cool and I would love to hear what it sounds like!!! I want one but don't know where I would put it. I suspect Sue may suggest where I could put it if she knew I wanted one :-{ Right now I have them everywhere in our small condo except the bathroom :-\ and Sue says I have to get rid of one before I get another. Ok, I have 3 penny whistles lying around I could get rid of :=P
My latest acquistion is an old banjo/mandolin. I hope to put up a page on our Stone Dragons website www.stonedragons.ca called "Instrument of the Month Club" with pictures of all my babies and descriptions.
