*chuckle* Had to think about this for a while, but I think it has to go to the outrageously politically incorrect DCI Gene Hunt from Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes.

Anne's choice is Charlie Epps from Numb3rs. I suspect it might be bardling's too :D

I like Charlie, yes. I also like Gibbs. And Ducky. And the Doctor (in various, though not all incarnations). And Hiro. And Richard Cipher. And Spock. And Mal Reynolds. And... :)

I don't know that I'd rate Gene as my favorite male character but he is definitely in the top 5!

The first depends far too much when as a child. The Pingwings, Noggin the Nog, Ivor the Engine |(and yes, if you think there's a strong Oliver Postgate thread there you're right; I don't know if I was actually associating the name with the show back then but I certainly liked his style).

For the second, probably Gibbs. Or Ducky. Or, having watched through the season, G Callen from NCIS LA. Or Peter Bishop (Fringe). All people I'd like to know IRL. (Oh dear, I'm now thinking a crossover series with all of them. Brain go 'splody!)
