Rest in peace...
May. 12th, 2003 03:43 pmTo a lady I never met.
As some of you may know, I'm a Leeds United fan, and a regular (and op) on #leeds on Undernet IRC. One of our other regulars there went by the /nick of Kampo, and was (in fact) an Arsenal fan, and a cheerfully friendly lady by the name of Jen. As a channel, we can get easily riled by fans of other teams who take delight in mocking us, but Jen was never such - always friendly, cheerful, willing to discuss Leeds and Arsenal's good and bad points, and cheer and moan with us (except, of course, when we played Arsenal).
I never knew she had cancer. I knew she was ill, as one of the channel ops asked folks to send her e-cards. I signed on today to the following topic:
--- Topic for #leeds is Kampo has passed away, a wonderful person, and a friend to everyone RIP Jen ( http://www.clockend.demon.co.uk/double.jpg )
Rest in peace, Jen. It was a pleasure to know you, if only virtually.
