fleetfootmikeQueen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, died at 3.15pm today.
I am already painfully aware that a number of my friends and acquantances do not share my views on her death. I am, in my own quiet way, a royalist: as such, she deserves my respect. On a more personal level, she always reminded me of my Gran, and for that alone I shall miss her.
Last, and by no means least, she was someone's mother, someone's sister, someone's friend. She was a human being like any other.
And now she is dead. For that *alone* she deserves a little common courtesy and respect, something I seem to be seeing precious little of from some people.
