Home sweet home

OK. After flying in at 10am on Saturday, taking
plaid_dragon home, getting in at 5pm, going to bed at 10pm, waking up at 9am Sunday, doing a gig with Fleetfoot Mike, getting to bed at midnight, and doing a 10am-9pm day at the office on Monday, I'm just ABOUT recovered from two weeks in Florida.
Man, I need a holiday :)
But seriously, Mike, how was it...? [1]
In a word, fantastic.
plaid_dragon sums it all up pretty well here, so I'll shamelessly point you there for some more info.
Personal highspots, though:
One of the great things about any holiday is who you get to spend it with.
For the first week we had Jim, Amanda and their three-year old daughter Hannah (any of my MUSH-playing friends may remember Jim as Roloran on various games). James in particular really enjoyed having another kid for company, and was heard to express a desire to have Hannah as a little sister at one point.
We had a day's visit from
sdorn and family, which was great, spent playing Carcassone and messing with a couple of cheap, cheerful but fun remote-control cars.
For the end of the second week, we were joined by
spiritdance and
filker0, for what I suspect might have been a much needed break, and a chance to actually see each other.
And of course, we had
plaid_dragon's company for the whole fortnight, to whom many many thanks for driving us everywhere (and clearly enjoying every minute of having a nice big sporty Dodge to play with), for helping keep James amused, and above all for her laughter and company.

Personal highspots, though:
- Watching a bright dot of light that was the Atlas IV launcher and MRO, my eyes screwed up against the sunrise, climb up into the sky above Cape Canaveral, and then the pause before the sound reached us. One day, I'll get to a shuttle launch.
plaid_dragon completely helpless with laughter over Eeyore. I have photos, but I'm a gentleman.
- The Spiderman ride at Universal: stunningly effective use of multiple 3D projection screens and a motion ride.
