the 4am ghost
Apr. 6th, 2004 08:25 amSo, in the interests of letting one of my colleagues be awake to take his son to Great Ormond Street Hospital for a checkup at 8am today, I take the end of his server watch shift (11pm - 3am last night).
All fine. Hand over to the excellent Imtiaz in Lahore (yay for IRC) at 3am, tell him everything is fine, tell him if there's an emergency to call ME before he calls my colleague, fall into bed.
4.10am, cell phone rings. Muzzily pick it up and answer it, eyes not focusing on the display so I can't remember if there *was* a caller-ID.
Silence.
Hrm. Wake up enough to check phone.
Nothing logged in Received Calls or Missed Calls.
No voice mail.
Scratch head. Go back to sleep.
Check with Imtiaz just now: wasn't him.
Puzzled.
