So, in the interests of letting one of my colleagues be awake to take his son to Great Ormond Street Hospital for a checkup at 8am today, I take the end of his server watch shift (11pm - 3am last night).

All fine. Hand over to the excellent Imtiaz in Lahore (yay for IRC) at 3am, tell him everything is fine, tell him if there's an emergency to call ME before he calls my colleague, fall into bed.

4.10am, cell phone rings. Muzzily pick it up and answer it, eyes not focusing on the display so I can't remember if there *was* a caller-ID.

Silence.

Hrm. Wake up enough to check phone.

Nothing logged in Received Calls or Missed Calls.

No voice mail.

Scratch head. Go back to sleep.

Check with Imtiaz just now: wasn't him.

Puzzled.

Some of you may remember that the house we live in was formerly owned by the makers of Sharma organ speakers, and, indeed, that we own four examples of their work in varying states of repair (one is, in fact, Anne's gigging keyboards amp, another is earmarked for same for large outdoor gigs).

The firm went into receivership in the mid-80s. Today, after 2 years of living here, we got our first piece of mail for the company: a Spanish music trade paper!
