OK. After flying in at 10am on Saturday, taking [livejournal.com profile] plaid_dragon home, getting in at 5pm, going to bed at 10pm, waking up at 9am Sunday, doing a gig with Fleetfoot Mike, getting to bed at midnight, and doing a 10am-9pm day at the office on Monday, I'm just ABOUT recovered from two weeks in Florida.

Man, I need a holiday :)

But seriously, Mike, how was it...? )

As [livejournal.com profile] stevieannie has commented, we had a great gig on Sunday. Nice to be back in the saddle again.

Despite (see earlier) breaking TWO strings in the first ten minutes, and having an intermittent problem with (I think) a dodgy input socket on my wah pedal (enough that I ducked out of using it on Green Manalishi), I had a ball. Just great to be up on stage with Anne, Mal, [livejournal.com profile] stevieannie, [livejournal.com profile] micktim and especially [livejournal.com profile] bardling.

Rick (my guitar teacher and our as-regular-as-he-can-manage sound engineer) was on fine form, great on-stage sound meaning I (and everyone else) could hear everything. It was also the live debut of Tipton Slasher #00001, my 6 watt valve amp, which I'm still utterly convinced CAN'T be only 6 watts.

High spots: Rhiannon absolutely smoked, as usual, as did Go Your Own Way. Hearing Annie's voice ringing out across the field during Lanslide was special, as was Anne closing the set with Songbird. And just generally, having [livejournal.com profile] bardling on stage with us, adding to the harmony layers in things like Everywhere and Silver Springs, as well as guitar on Gypsy and Go Your Own Way. You rock, Rika! I'm only sorry you had to spend most of the show staring at my back :)

next gigs:

2nd September, 9pm. The Plough, North Hykeham (near Lincoln).
7th October, 9pm. Marquis of Granby, High Street, Wellingore.
