And they have this one as well. (http://www.haynes.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/BookFeature_RAFHandbookView?langId=-1&storeId=10001&catalogId=10001)
For my taste the Spitfire was the most beautiful fighter ever, the proportions are just right. I have a soft spot for the Lancaster at the top of the bomber category, and the Short Sunderland for flying boats.
The outfit selling that Lancaster model have picked up the distribution rights to a pretty big collection of CGI models, and quite a few look to be very similar to commercial plastic kits. You can see it in some parts being a bit out of proportion, such as the thickness of the framing of a cockpit canopy or gun turret, and a lot of the buildings are straight out of model railway catalogues.
I don't think the Lancaster is one of those models.
But (going by YouTube videos) any film-maker has to compete with computer games these days.
The Spitfire manual is a common sight in the windows of bookshops around here - not that suprising as the prototype first flew from Eastleigh. they even had (until last year) a Spitfire theme to their Christmas lights.
