I just figured out why the corporation in Dollhouse is called Rossum.

Equal parts "Doh! Of course." and "Oh, niiiiiice."

Having just learned more (thanks, Wikipedia!) about the play than I ever knew before, it actually fits a lot better than I first assumed.

Looking at the Wikipedia article after you mentioned it I noticed that it actually mentions the connection at the bottom. (I still haven't read, or even seen a copy of, the play. I only know about it by reputation.)
