Setting aside Firefly, which is a no-brainer - if you haven't, do! - I'd have to go for the BBC's original Life On Mars. Don't judge it by the naff US remake (the ending was risible)... the original is a piece of sheer brilliance.

Life on Mars, the British one is very cool. I resisted watching out of stubborness for a while because Wayne was pushing so hard. I'm glad when I did start watching because it was so good. Ashes to Ashes didn't catch my attention the same way.

I totally agree. The original LOM was excellent. I didn't even bother with the remake.
