Having spent a day art the London Perl Workshop, I'm probably one of the last to catch up on the sad news about keristor.

Kind of glad we have a house full of filkers at present, with demoneyes and oreouk here for a rehearsal tomorrow, but...

Rest in piece, my friend. We'll miss all the things you did, from sound through bass and guitar playing to just being a larger than life member of our extended family.

Is there any information about the funeral? Sorry to ask you but I'm sure many people would like to know and I don't know who else to ask.

Nothing yet on a funeral. It takes time to get through all the paperwork before you can start organising such things. I think I was lucky when my mother died, the paperwork went through very quickly, but I'm pretty sure this will need an inquest, which means the coroner has to sign off on things.

Don't expect to hear anything soon, but I'm sure the filk community will be informed.

Yes, that matches my information, and yes, I'm sure his sister Hilary will let us know. I will meet up with her on Tuesday to help to begin to get things dealt with, at the very least by providing car transport as necessary. We'll let the filk community know when there's a date.

There will need to be some sort of investigation/inquest into the crash, I should think, before such things can be scheduled.

BTW, I found the slides for a presentation you did on Perl and Unicode, and found it immensely helpful for a project at work. We're getting XML from data providers, parsing the XML, and putting it into an Oracle database. We want to preserve the UTF-8 characters, and had no way to do that until recently. Thanks.
