Oh for ****'s sake...
Oct. 22nd, 2003 05:35 pmThis story covers a court case being brought against the makers of Grand Theft Auto for being responsible for shootings perpetrated by 14 and 16 year old kids in alleged imitation of events in the game.
I hope the judge throws it out, and encourages a counter suit against the kids' parents for a) letting them purchase a game which is at least in this country rated 18, and b) being evidently not VERY responsible for the actions of minors in their care.

Date: 2003-10-22 12:18 pm (UTC)This argument has plagued this industry, and artistic expression in general, long before this lawsuit, or Joseph Lieberman. There is always a group out there who thinks they know best and take it upon themselves to tell the rest of us what we can and can't do, for a variety of reasons.
I believe this lawsuit will be shot down like the one's before it, but the rhetoric will go on and on and on...
