'Ere, dad?
Oct. 27th, 2003 02:49 pm"Do you know the piano's on my foot?"
"No son, but you hum it and I'll play it."
Yesterday evening was 'put everything back how it was in the music room' evening. 'Everything' includes Anne's birthday present from last year, a Yamaha CP-70B electric grand piano [for those who don't know - previous owner Chris Stainton of Eric Clapton's band, bought on eBay for 200 quid]. This, in particular, is possibly the most unwieldy piece of kit on God's Green Earth: it's surprisingly portable, dismantling into two sections, basically the keyboard and the strings (real strings!). The latter weighs a touch over 100lb, fits in a flight-case which is massively topheavy, is an absolute bitch to get in and out, and hurts like hell when it lands on your foot.
No break, fortunately, but the top of my right foot is going to have one heck of a bruise, and I'll be limping for a while.
