BMI calculator
Jan. 6th, 2004 09:56 amThere's a handy BMI (Body Mass Index) calculator in both metric and imperial at http://nhlbisupport.com/bmi/bmicalc.htm - for the mathematically minded, the formula is
BMI = Weight in Pounds / (height in inches * height in inches) x 703
or Weight in kilos / (height in metres * height in metres)
I'm now at a BMI of 28. My target weight gives me a BMI of 23.6
BMI = Weight in Pounds / (height in inches * height in inches) x 703
or Weight in kilos / (height in metres * height in metres)

Date: 2004-01-06 05:57 am (UTC)I'm 5'6", and although I was a mere 8 stone in my University days, in recent years I wander about between 11 and 11.5 stone. Every now and then someone says "gosh, you do look thin!" or "Oh good, you're putting on some weight!". These comments appear to have no correlation at all with my actual weight, and everything to do with which jumper I'm wearing. =:o}
