PowerGen in competence shock

I am stunned.

It was actually Scottish Power, whose customers we *are*. For their once yearly check-our-reading-against-theirs visit.

[EDIT: for the confused among you: our contract with Scottish Power means that we do the reading most of the time. But when they do, they contract it out to the SAME company as PowerGen]

Yeah, we have one meter reading company around here, they do both Gas and Electricity in one visit for all suppliers.

An amazing outbreak of sanity! I still get different folks reading gas and electricity meters. I can see them on the webcam. You might think they'd try a different time of day if they didn't get an answer, but the last one called shortly after 6pm three days in a row. I expect I'll get an estimated bill shortly...

Maybe I just live too far away from civilization, but I have never once heard of being able to report your own readings. Someone always comes out and checks ours.
